I am a long-time executive (over 25 years!) in the CPG, Retail, and Information industries. I am passionate about these industries - with so many changes and opportunities, this is a great space in which to be. I run a consulting group, Panther Mountain Companies, LLC, which I named for a mountain in Western South Carolina where I spend a bit of time when I can. We specialize in helping companies (new and old) bring technologies and services to bear in the CPG and retail (online or off) space.
Most recently I started ShelfSnap LLC. ShelfSnap uses common digital pictures of in-store conditions as input. We apply our patented image/pattern recognition service to the pictures to idenfity the products in the picture. Our spatial analytic engine determines facings, shelf location, adjacencies and other conditions such as OOS. We can then determine the answers to long lived and frequent questions such as: Did my new product hit the shelves in my key retailers?
What shelf, what assortment and how many facings?
Is my planogram in-tact? Was it ever?
Are my point-of-sale materials displayed at all?
