ShelfSnap Update

Filed under: Pioneering Technology, Merchandising — MikeSpindler @ 22:13

Where’s ours?We last wrote about launching a business in ”times like these” in October.   The U.S. now has a new President and an economy that makes us wish for the good old days of October!   I haven’t read where start up companies , adding jobs to the economy are supposed to stand in line to get a piece of the “bailout” have you?

We have been very busy devoting a good deal of our resources in three areas:

1. We thoroughly vetted the promise of ShelfSnap.  We worked with an exacting client and a pretty demanding test of the whole system from less than ideal pictures to a very custom,  particular output.  All went swimmingly.   We proved we were cheaper, faster, more accurate and generated richer data than any of today’s in store audit techniques.   And they made us a better company for it.  At the same time we have talked with a number of manufacturers, retailers and broker/MSO’s and found pretty much everyone enthusiastic over the capability.

2. That vetting process helped us to focus on both product enhancements and some production efficiencies we could implement in the short run.  Part of this involved adding capabilities to bring our systems into line with International GS1 standards for merchchandising needs.

3. We have spent a substantial amount of time with industry leaders in the consulting, technical applications and data areas of merchandising and space management.   We did this because we see ourselves as a cogin a very important merchandising machine charged with bringing efficiency and effectiveness to a chaotic in-store environment.   We bring a unique and new view into the store condition that, when paired with POG tools and sage strategic direction optimize the shelf from the perspective of the only “vote” that matters,  the consumer’s!    We have had kind and generally terrific reception to our message and our entreaties to “play.”  The message that:  everyone has contributed and therefore deserves to  gather fruit from our success, and that there are no silver bullets has resonated with reasonable and client focused partners.

More as we move forward!
